For those who are not afraid of the technology it is worth noting that there are literally hundreds of Keil School Old Boys to be found on the Facebook website.  Within the website there are at least two groups dedicated to KSOB.

To use the site you need to create an account.

From the current committee -  Jim MacFarlane (88), Fergus Allan (77) and Allan Thomson (95) can all be found on Facebook and are always happy to hear from any KSOBs who use that site.

Posted by Allan Thomson. 3 Comments

It is now less than a month till our planned old boys cruise on the Waverley paddle steamer.  The cruise will take place on the evening of Friday 31st July 2009.  I am assured that despite its ‘little bump’ last week that the ship will be operating normally by this weekend and our cruise is not in jeopardy.

The evening cruise departs Glasgow Science Centre Friday 31st July 2009 at 19:30 and returns at 23:00.

Parking available at the Glagow Science Centre car park.

The Old Boys Club offer a discounted ticket price of £15.00 per person. The trip is scheduled to pass by the old school grounds at Helenslee and the club will provide champagne to toast our old school as we sail by.

Fishing: Wednesday the 24th June.
The take up so far is six and three boats have been booked,
there are normally two per boat but at a pinch three can fish if
required. The cost will be split with the Old Boys Club subsidising the outing by paying 50% of the boat hire.
Contact Jim McLean (j_maclean@ntlworld.com) if you are interested in joining the party.

Committee meeting 16 June 09 - notes

Posted by webchief. No Comments

1. Waverley trip on 31st July already has 20 subscribers - Allan will post some more details about that.

2. McCormick medal will be played in the East Neuk (Charleton House) on the weekend of 17th / 18th October. Finlay Kerr at Caiplie House is offering a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal at £40 per person (£45 for a single).
The big news from that event is that Campbell Savage will be offering interested old boys the opportunity to tour the R&A on the Sunday. It’s not something that money can buy, so let us know if you fancy joining us for that rare privilege.

3. Membership cards should have been distributed to all, let us know if you haven’t received one yet.

Musical Old Boys

Posted by webchief. No Comments

KSOB Scott Thomson (1997) and David Dailly (1997) play in a band called “EMPIRES”

23 May 2009 - 20:30 Halt Bar (Glasgow)
05 Jun 2009 - 20:00 Whistle Binkies (Edinburgh)
07 Jun 2009 - 19:30 King Tuts (Glasgow)

You can visit the bands website and here a bit of their music http://www.myspace.com/empiresscotland

I think the King Tuts gig could do with a Keil presence.
