Waverley Cruise - Update
It is now less than a month till our planned old boys cruise on the Waverley paddle steamer. The cruise will take place on the evening of Friday 31st July 2009. I am assured that despite its ‘little bump’ last week that the ship will be operating normally by this weekend and our cruise is not in jeopardy.
The evening cruise departs Glasgow Science Centre Friday 31st July 2009 at 19:30 and returns at 23:00.
Parking available at the Glagow Science Centre car park.
The Old Boys Club offer a discounted ticket price of £15.00 per person. The trip is scheduled to pass by the old school grounds at Helenslee and the club will provide champagne to toast our old school as we sail by.

Just read this post on the meeting - I was on the Waverly myself last night and enjoyed the rather misty and wet views of the old school - I left the school in the mid eighties. Pity I didnt know this was on I would have introduced myself.

Sorry you didn’t know we were going to be there Andrew, we must get better at publicising these events, but all in all there were about 25 Old Boys and friends. The weather, as you say got pretty dreich by the time we passed the school, fortunately the bar was open and it was a catchup I enjoyed thoroughly.

Hi Andrew,
Sorry we missed you. The cruise was excellent.
There is already some talk of another Waverley cruise next year. Details will probably emerge at the AGM which is due to take place on Saturday 28th November2009.
We will update the blog if there is any more news of this event.
